Watch spongebob squarepants season 1. I have an older original book like listed above. Its has very many american machines and I believe foreign. I have used it mainly to check my 3 SB lathes and BP J head. I wonder if you just get a CD of the book for the money. I ordered what I thought was a manual for my Heavy Ten SB lathe from a comercial Co.
For about $15 including shipping and it came on a CD. It has copies of the South Bend Lathe publications, but I found not all of them. OK for the price I guess, but wonder if its legal to copy this stuff. If it is, maybe i'm crazy for not making one CD copy of my book, Burn copies of that at cost of 50 cents each and sell them for $15. Clear profit of $13.

The legal aspect is the bind,other wise very many old books like this would be copied onto CDs and sold for very handsome profits. It's always been a profound mystery to me, why manufacturers don't just stamp the damn year on a plate in the first place. Some later CNC machines do have the year stamped in but very rare for older manual machines to do this. Some CNC machines have a place for the year on the nameplate but it's often blank. All I can figure is the manuf. Left it blank just in case the distributor was 'stocking' such that if he had a 1997 machine still unsold in 1999, it wouldn't be so obvious to potential customers (?) Having said that, when I manufactured tapping machines, I didn't stamp the year in either.but only because it didn't occur to me to put a space for it when I ordered the nameplates.
